FutureLocal started as a content architecture strategy for digital product ecosystems that integrate with the user’s spatial, local, and community experience. I registered the LLC in 2019, trademark pending.
The creative vision of FutureLocal came from several years of research on the mobility systems of the NYC urban periphery (Tri-state area, NY, NJ, CT) I started organizing informal salon-style gatherings for Systems Thinkers and digital media enthusiasts, with the goal of finding collaborators to build a product/service ecosystem (AKA business model)… this never panned out. The initiative did however spark many “informed” ideas, which have morphed into “digital content for community experiences”. These ideas have been developed for clients interested in spatial UX & live data, product-led growth, community-centered design, and decentralized economic systems.

FutureLocal has basically become a playground prototype for various research & design experiments. Most recently, as part of a strategy to engage members of the American Society for Cybernetics in digital community practice. I also use this lens to explore the confluence between biology, engineering, psychology, and philosophy in designing ML systems, platforms for conversations, dialogue, and generative intelligence.
